Arby’s – We Have Pepsi
As we all know advertisers are constantly thinking about how to get their message across to their audience. Some use subliminal messages while others use clever positioning. Arby’s and its Minneapolis-based agency, Fallon, use the most explicitly transparent message you can think of – and the result is quite hilarious.
Last October, Arby’s received a reminder that they needed to feature Pepsi in one more ad by the end of 2014. The problem was that Arby’s already had its end-of-the-year creative in place. Instead of throwing a can of Pepsi in its current advertisement, Fallon decided to make an entirely new commercial poking fun at the situation. The blunt explanation paired with the single shot of a glass of Pepsi was a hit becoming a viral video on YouTube and a hot topic among the media.
As the saying goes, honesty is the best policy - right, Arby's?
